This 3in by 4in zine comes with earrings, a necklace, or a set of 2 hairclips with dangles. The pendants made from "Shrinky Dink" plastic. The earrings are hung on hypoallergenic hooks from Bead Landing. The zine tells the story of Bluebeard tableaus, where girls in the 1800s and early 1900s would pretend to be the murdered wives of the titular villian in the fairy tale Bluebeard. The earrings are selected from an 1868 Harper's Bazaar depiction of one of the tableaus.
The zine is 26 pages including cover and is created using a risograph printer. The cover is cardstock and is an original risograph print. The interior is made of risograph prints that have been scanned in and printed on an office printer.
Leo Covault
Leo Covault is a printmaker, zinester, and illustrator from Cleveland, Ohio. His work explores gender through the lens of historical fashion and folklore, and emphasizes hand made shapes and textures. He has been a Hudson Valley Seed Pack Artist and a Cleveland Scene Magazine Comics Edition artist. In 2024, he created the Genghis Con Indie Comics Convention poster. He graduated with a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2022, and he has been vending at fairs and festivals since 2021.
