This 3in by 4in zine comes with earrings made from "Shrinky Dink" plastic hung on hypoallergenic hooks. The zine tells the story of Bluebeard tableaus, where girls in the 1800s and early 1900s would pretend to be the murdered wives of the titular villian in the fairy tale Bluebeard. The earrings are selected from an 1868 Harper's Bazaar depiction of one of the tableaus.
The zine is 26 pages including cover and is created using a risograph printer. The cover is cardstock and is an original risograph print. The interior is made of risograph prints that have been scanned in and printed on an office printer.

I create jewlery, traditional prints, illustrations, and comics. My current interest is exploring gender through the lense of fairy tales, folk art, and historical fashion. My work is intended to show the distance of time and the handmade quality of older forms of art. However, I also seek to reconnect current audiences using strong narratives and moods.
